A reputable and high-end event planner brought on a graphic designer to create a digital invitation. They charged $10K for this sketch below; they were fired after this!
The next designer was also highly recommended, and this designer charged $14K (and took over a month) to produce this animation below, which didn’t reflect the artistic direction we gave, and looked more clip art, less custom design. (Luckily we got a refund on this one)
I put ideas and inspiration images from ChatGPT in a storyboard and generated a mock-up with Runway (suggested by ChatGPT).
The end result still wasn’t usable (there is a woman with three legs!) BUT not bad considering it was basically free and took only a few prompts and images to create, compared to thousands of dollars and months of stress with the professional designers!
With a little more time playing around in Runway and then pivoting over to Opus 5.5, I was able to get a much more streamlined video.
